Re: News & Discussion : New Bars & Night Clubs

As ghs posted last Thursday, The Propaganda Club opens tomorrow from 11.30AM. For those of you wondering what has been going on with the old bar/pokies room located beneath the Grenfell Street side of the Regent Arcade, this will be what's replacing it. Great use of the space if you ask me! http://c...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide City Council

The RCC has already flagged its intention to move to a new location from next year. I think they will be setting up on the Torrens parade ground instead. This was only due to the council's complaints about their treatment of the space. What get's me is that there was such a massive whinge over how ...

[COM] Re: U2 on Waymouth - 114 Waymouth Street | 78m | 26lvl

To be honest, I hope this one flops. The exterior design is OK but what they're offering inside comes across as cheap and nasty. Go back to the drawing board and bring something to the table that's actually competitive with every other apartment proposal popping up around Adelaide.

Re: Crane Counter: CBD 11 | Metro 6 | Total 17

This might be a stupid question, but hey, that's what I'm here for. Where are all of these developers getting their crane stock from? Obviously VUE's crane went to Bohem. But we have 17 cranes in the sky across Adelaide which has to be some kind of record. Are they shipping them in from inter...

We now have a vacant commercial lot on the main road surrounded by a cheap colourbond fence.

Feeling more and more like O'Connell North Adelaide every day.

Either way, both designs are an improvement on what is currently there. I seem to recall hearing that the current buildings were designed with the option of repurposing them for the city's remand centre should they need to expand the city's prison facilities, don't hold me to that, it's simply what ...

Guess you can say they'll be entering a bit of a funk.
Their branding has improved, but that name.............

This is good, apart from Hutt Street I don't believe there is another Cibo on the southern end of the CBD. Sure enough you can expect the cafe in the neighbouring office building will suffer.

I live just around the corner and walk past the site almost every day, I've seen a lot of these types of functions being held in the showroom... If that's anything to go by there seems to be a lot of interest in the site. The model of the building demonstrates how nice itwill look but that western w...

You need to charge your phone, Ben.

I don't mind this, I particularly like the fact that they've tried to work it into the neighbouring heritage building. I can also see this getting taller if there is enough demand.

[SWP] Re: Former RAH Site (Design Competition)

I'm just going to say it... I'm completely against the idea of apartments and more offices in the parklands. First of all, our office occupancy rate in the city is still rubbish so I don't know where the government hope to pull tenants for these buildings from, and the apartments... Well, don't even...

[SWP] Re: Former RAH Site (Design Competition)

If we want to build an iconic modern art gallery, I am of the belief that we should build it on an iconic site. I think the best site is the Government House lawns on the corner of KW St and North Tce. What's the point of view of building an icon of it's not highly visible? The Festival Theatre and...

There will be allowances for a tram terminus next to the new hotel, I'd imagine that in the meantime (until trams are actually running to the airport that this area will be used for a bus terminus... Well, I'd hope anyway.

Re: [West Franklin] | 63/54m | 3 x 17-20lvls | Apartments

I've never experienced anything more frustrating then spending 20 minutes circling around in my car after a hard day at work trying to find a park near Coles. Eh? There's a UPark directly above it, another one 50 metres or so away from it on the other side of the road, as well as a Wilson car park ...
