Re: News & Discussion: Roads & Traffic

All that it says is I need to turn onto the left side of the road, not what lane. No turn line, so you can turn into either lane. The NSW image I showed is correct. Go ask a professional. You can turn into any lane if you're turning from a single right turning lane https://www.rms.nsw.gov.au/images...

Congratulations to the developer on successfully delivering on the project goal of creating a replica of a bland 80's generic office building. :applause:

Is that 295-297 Pirie St in the corner of that view? I think we can expect a few more apartments for sale in this building.

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

OlympusAnt, are you aware of the history? SA did recognise the advantage of gauge commonality, and met with Victoria and NSW to decide which gauge to select. NSW had an Irish chief engineer who insisted on the 5ft 3 gauge which was standard in Ireland. So SA ordered broad gauge equipment. Victoria ...

[U/C] Re: Burnside Village (Extension)

The offices could remain occupied during construction as long as the appropriate safety measures are implemented such as the concrete slabs over the offices and exposed parts of the shops would need to be designed to prevent them being penetrated by a steel beam dropped by a crane. The reality is re...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide City Council

The bridge was holding a single car plus half a dozen students as a "dead load" total weight would have been 2-2.5 tonnes. At full pedestrian capacity the bridge would be able to accommodate 50+ people. Assuming they averaged 70kg each you're looking at 3.5 tonnes of "live load"....

You’re wrong though. Every CBD I know (yes, even in China) has an element of heritage niceties in their CBDs. I dont know who in their right mind would desire a carpark more then a cottage. There’s no “commercial value” in it. This result is not deliberate. No one demolishes buildings such as these...

There was a massive cost issue with this project at the design stage but as Rhino said there wasn't the same public exposure. The nRAH was developed privately but with public money. Looking at the recent major pure government hospital projects in this state: - Flinders Rehab, Older Persons Mental He...

I have confidence in this development as Kyren has other good quality developments such as 400KWS and PWC on Franklin Street.
I believe they've used different Architects on this project which could explain the "dumbing down" when compared to their previous projects.

Where does one have to go to get a descent size block of land these days? One where I can have a nice house, a shed, an outdoor entertaining area, a double carport, room for a couple of fruit trees and some veggies, and a back lawn? 1000 sq m would be enough, and used to be the norm. So sad to see ...

$45 million for 90 dwellings on the KFC / Hungry Jacks Everard Park site, sounds like a massive amount to build 90 apartments, the average price would be less then the build price, plus HJ's and KFC are earning a lot of income in this location, why demolish them and build a development that will lo...

I would have thought that for Adelaide's premier Transit Oriented Development something like Subiaco Station would have been the bare minimum.
