Seems to me they could've gotten away with either? The concrete had some visual interest and lent an industrial look to it. Maybe the downside being that there's a bit too much of it. On the other hand, the painted finish breaks it up a bit and seems less blank to the eye. Colour contrasts also wor...

I have to say the facade treatment and variation on this tower is very impressive. It has certainly lifted what is a fairly basic design and given it some really interesting elements. I'm really liking what I'm seeing so far

From what I can gather there's significant work going into the GPO as well which isn't as visible as other parts of the construction. Once these are stabilised and sured up, more of the new super structure will commence.

for me if there was a more pronounced height difference between the two "towers" it would look better. It certainly has impact, its overall mass could end up being overpowering. Still, it'll create some variation on the skyline!

There is an obvious "wave" feature in the facade on the revised version, for which I think looks quite striking.

Re: Crane Counter: CBD 12 | Metro 8 | Total 20
Thanks for compiling this Ben.
Should the 88 O'Connell development be here too? I'd expect at least two hammerheads for this site, plus with minimal basements, cranes may be on site before the end of the year.

Could have been a request from a potential office tennant too. As long as the ground floor is still retail activated as slated I think it'll be fine (aside from car park entry which I'm assuming will come from laneway access off Grenfell Street?)

Interesting. Could be a quite striking development if the integration between the heritage and tower is sympathetic. Keen to see the renders!

Looking at those plans, the building should be 129m tall (factoring total height minus AHD of the ground floor)

So pretty much the 180m mark, give or take a few metres. Super impressive! I can't wait to see the renders!

Could be transplant shock too. It's pretty common in transplanting mature trees that they go into shock and lose their leaves. They're not actually dead, and recover in time.
