I think they are Cycads actually. Low growing palm like plants. The same type used in the North Terrace gardens.

For those of you interested, the first scheduled Air Asia X flight arrives into Adelaide at 9:45am tomorrow and departs at 11am. This will be operated by an Airbus A330.
