[COM] Re: #Proposed : 'Northern Connector'
Me thinks the gov wants to toll this new road and salisbury hwy, hence why they are giving road users options on 2 roads.... Maybe its part of their grand master plan of connecting southern expressway (dual carriage version) to northern expressway and to port river expressway with a toll. Those not ...

Re: Ideas for a greater public transport system
It would make more sense to have everyone park their cars at west lakes then have the grange station with no carpark at all. At least people will USE it. However I still think it should be light rail.

Wow, maybe after this project, Wingfield will become just as big a bottle neck as Bedford Park!!
Im guessing it will be 90-110km/h from gawler to wingfield so heaps of commuters will use it as well.

Re: Electrification and Resleepering of TransAdelaide Network
And while they're at it resleepering - how about grade seperating ALL level crossings. I agree. The conflict between train and road is slowing the system down (amongst other things). Also the number of stations needs to be reduced. Trains only come into their own when they're allowed to move tonnes...

Re: APPROVED: $60m State Swimming Centre
I don't think ACC wants to redevelop the North Adelaide AQUATIC center (not a state swimming center). They are more than happy just to keep replacing the broken tiles when they break. I think Marion just thought well if ACC wont build a FINA standard center, then we will. I guess its better having o...

Re: Article: City Tram Track To Grow
Urban, if I wanted to catch PT that went onto the urban fabric as you say.....then I catch a bus because thats what they are for. If I just wanna goto the city for work/uni/school then you catch the fast light/heavy rail services that are available. Heavy rail (which isn't really that heavy here) pr...

Well thats 1 out of 1.2mill that knew of this....anyelse knew of this? hehe I mean there is no stopping the ACC saying to themselves... "oh, Marion has a larger, more kick ass swimming arena then us that will be holding international events, thats wierd??" and then build an even bigger swi...

Re: Article: City Tram Track To Grow
I wouldn't support grade separating the trams. The attraction of trams is that they connect into the urban fabric. The interface between the tram corridor and the area around it should be improved. As a daily user of the trams to get to/from work, having traffic lights in the suburbs would not make...

Re: Article: City Tram Track To Grow
I think they should eventually grade seperate the whole tram path into the city. Having boom gates is a joke is could also be a big contributing factor to some of the peak hour woes down south.
Could those new trams be coupled together, if re-engineered?? are the platforms long enough?

So are we still considered in the "trial period" because the trams are still as full as ever and people are still not being able to get on the trams in the peak periods??....

Yes but what about the range of shops that TTP has that Elizabeth doesnt?
Isnt the whole point of going to a shopping centre, to shop??
I dont care how good Elizabeth looks, if there is more shops at TTP, id rather go there.

Re: APPROVED: $60m State Swimming Centre
Cruise, there is a big difference between the number of people going to a Swimming Event than to a AFL match. What about the thousands that use it daily for swimming / water polo / diving etc training or for recreational use? Well if it is for recreational use then im sure your local swimming centr...
