The Barossa's Warren reservoir and the mid-north's Bundaleer reservoir have been filled with thousands of native fish in what
is expected to be a boost for regional tourism. Fishing has been allowed at the Warren dam since 2010. Silver perch are fully
protected in the Murray River, so the reservoirs will be the only place in SA where they can be legally caught. If Fisheries
approves, anglers could take both silver perch and cod home. RecFish SA says the $33 fishing permit will go towards
maintaining stock.

Always wondered the same of Myponga re fishing/ recreation . It is in beautiful surrounds and looks almost like a natural lake when driving along the shore. Also of all the dams it always seems to be the most full, even in summer.

That's a great idea, hopefully they follow through with it. The mid north needs all the help they can get. Hoping that they also replant the forests destroyed by fire, they're a tourism drawcard.

I certainly hope they plant some trees around Bundaleer reservoir because it's as barren as buggery around it!

But yes, I agree it's a great idea, and Myponga would be good too!

There is no reason for all reservoirs excluding kangaroo creek, hope valley, mt bold and happy valley to be opened for fishing. Some should be stocked with trout and salmon others with natives. They would boast tourism as well as increasing funds for pirsa, to allow regular restocking and taking fishing pressure off the marine environment.

I think all of our reservoirs should be recreation parks. Beautiful forested lakes, and we have an absolutely no trespassing rule? Way over the top policy and a huge lost opportunity. Glad to see its coming to an end.
