But why would you want to go to Dubai? Except for tall buildings, what do they have?

Shopping - designer clothing brands, accessories, vast shopping centres, luxury cars, designer homewares and the like. That, and exclusive resorts, beaches, famous hotels, golf courses etc.

Ask the Crows players - they were there only recently!

Dubai is basically in a rapid process of diversifying its economy away from reliance on oil as it is expected that the emirate of Dubai will run out of oil around 2016. They've largely diversified into the services sector, particularly with tourism, transportation and finance.

Well, I suppose money can buy you just about anything. Including unnecessarily tall buildings, one of the world's fastest-growing airlines and a huge indoor ski slope in the middle of the desert. If that's what they need to do to get people to go there, then good luck to them.
It's = it is; its = everything else.
You're = you are; your = belongs to.
Than = comparative ("bigger than"); then = next.
