#1 Post by Howie » Tue Apr 08, 2008 10:10 am

From Skyscraper city.

What do you guys think?

Announced tonight, a $700 million proposed development for Bourke St near the Telstra Dome Pedestrian Bridge in Docklands, Stadium Precinct. A twin tower proposal, blue glass, with commercial, residential and retail etc. Looks reasonably tall - About 30 stories maybe???

It looks great on the news ! I am sure someone will post a few pics

Cheers

It will destroy the views we had from the apartment where I was last time and will cover up the Telstra Dome from view. Well, it's their city...

compare the designs with what we get in Adelaide? Shit all over us anytime. Again.

This post is in regards to building designs in Adelaide, which are so hopeless.

It would have been wonderful if City Central tended towards a design like that. Alas, we've staid glass boxes...

All about money, or so I like to think.
Or maybe we just have architects with no vision or bold ideas?

A bit of both. But it's the people who employ the architects who put the mufflers on their creativity. Some developers don't like bold statements because the architect's bills get larger.
