I suspect foul play - could it be Jimmy "The mouth of the south" Hart, or perhaps the scheming Mr Fuji?

Rollodromes

#33 Post by The Scooter Guy » Tue Oct 20, 2009 6:26 pm

Does Adelaide & the suburbs have any rollodromes at the moment? :?
There are some which you may not know about them:
Eastwood Rollerama
Glenelg Rollodrome
Hindmarsh Rollodrome
Rundle Mall Rollodrome
Status Skateline
(information courtesy of 1983 Adelaide UBD Street Directory)
For starters, my avatar is the well-known Adelaide Aquatic Centre insignia from 1989.

I think the one at Noarlunga (between the station and the cinema) is still used for that purpose, though I don't know for sure.

Where was the Rundle Mall one?

There used to be a roller skating ring at Lonsdale just off Lonsdale Highway as far as I remember but we are going back almost 10 years now...

There was an ice rink there. Is that what you're thinking of?

There was also a roller skating place located on the opposite side of the road to the ice skating rink. It was in a large shed behind the row of shops near the railway bridge if I remember correctly. :)

Am I sensing a groundswell of enthusiasm for a rollerskating renaissance? Then I have the soundtrack for your coming summer - new from Matias Aguayo, "Rollerskate"

'Strewth, people, I'm the one with grey hair. Go any further back in time and you'll be suggesting Melanie's "Brand New Key"! (and that's hardly going to have people lacing up their skates)

I'm sure whoever lives there is happy about you posting pictures of their house on the internet.
