News from the Myer Centre:
Pro Hart's South Australian Mural returns to its original home!
(30 September 2011)

The ‘South Australian Mural' was commissioned by the Myer Centre Adelaide in 1993. It is the largest artwork to be permanently exhibited in South Australia by the legendary Australian artist, Pro Hart.

The mural, measuring 6 metres by 2 metres, portrays the history of South Australia and is divided into four panels each of which was progressively completed by Pro Hart at public sittings at the Myer Centre in March of 1993.

The very special painting has now returned to its original home on the Upper Ground Level above the entrance into Myer at The Myer Centre Adelaide. Don't miss your chance to view this piece of South Australian art history.

awesome, thanks for the heads-up Vee. I'm heading to the Art Gallery tomorrow, and will now drop by the Myer Centre too!
Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.

Why did they remove it then, and if they're putting it back then why don't they leave it there permanently?

It's got to be better than a blank wall surely!

What about the Myer 'Level 5' entrance? These 2 top floors only have a very few people around...
There never was an entrance to Myer on level 5. The area in front of Myer was all part of Dazzleland and had small shops selling sweets and various types of novelties that complimented the rides and amusements.

Although the escalators to level 5 have been permanently barred, is entry still possible with the lifts, even if the button to level 5 says 'No Public Access'?
For starters, my avatar is the well-known Adelaide Aquatic Centre insignia from 1989.

So the programming of the lift has been changed since the top floor closed to public.
One day I could mount my camera onto an RC helicopter and shoot some footage of what it looks like from today!

The hoardings on the 4th floor have changed a bit. They now have peepholes in the doors so here's some pics taken through!

And this photo was taken on Level 5. So someone did use the elevators after all!
