That is very true (on the city being surreal), I am no genious in photoshop and those photos may have some minor adjustment in the exposure levels (done in Adobe Lightroom) but that was about it. Everything you see if exactly what you will see in real life.
If you have an intention to visit Dubai you might want to plan the trip as soon as you can before the city goes totally bankrupt and buried in the sand dunes. This is a city that will not last very long, so visit while it is still there.
