How many franchises can you fit into an "on the run"?

Australian pie franchise, Pie Face, has signed a two year deal with South Australian convenience chain, On The Run.

Pie Face will stock product to 80 On The Run outlets across South Australia.

“Pie Face is very pleased to have an agreement with leading convenience operator, On The Run, that introduces our products to South Australian consumers,” Andrew Lyme, commercial manager at Pie Face, said.

“The company has been focused on the supply chain side of business in an effort to increase production efficiencies and allow the business to become a lower cost, premium bakery supplier to our national retail network. These types of value add licensing and supply deals should enable the company to reach these goals sooner.”

The Peregrine Corporation-owned convenience chain will carry a core range of nine products including meat pies, sausage rolls, and some new products developed specifically for On The Run customers.

The deal is expected to result in initial unit volumes exceeding one million units per annum but may be expanded into additional lines. The arrangement does not preclude Pie Face from franchising or operating its core retail stores in Adelaide.

Pie Face had recently commissioned a new 3000sqm HCAPP accredited Central Kitchen Facility (CKF) in Rosehill Sydney to handle production.

Lyme says the company is hopeful similar deals with roll out throughout the year.

Pie Face launched in Sydney in 2003 and now has 87 stores across Australia, the United States, and New Zealand, with plans for entry into the Middle East and additional international markets within the next two years.

Last year, the chain opened its first drive through outlet on the Gold Coast.

How does that fit along side the Brumby's outlets in most of the On The Runs?

Most likely cater for stores without a Brumbies offer. Currently these stores stock Vilis and Balfours products.

Brumbies is just a sub brand of Peregrine isn't it? Like chill, C coffee, happy wash (or is that one bp?)
Looking forward to a free-flowing Adelaide!

These were everywhere in the CBD in Melbourne the last time I went there...

Has anyone tried them? Are they any good?

What is Pie Face and why should we care?

Perigine employees were on tv a few months back, when the new Mogas on Henley Beach Rd dropped prices to 99cents for unleaded, and they copied, and were complaining how they are all the little guy and everyone should support their business. The little guy doesn't own multiple mansions and a fleet of top of the range luxury cars that each cost multiple times the average persons home. Goes for both.

Depends on the kind of pie. Some of them are good, but their beef pies are terrible, tasting more of vegetables than beef.

I didn't mind the beef pies, to be honest.

Somewhat surprised to learn that they expanded to New York City before crossing the border to SA.

Is that the servo on the corner of Glen Osmond Road and Portrush Road? Or is it another new one?

The one with the big sandbag looking structures in front of it, coming down the hill? Yeah, that's the one.

They rebuilt the absolute crap out of it and from memory (I last went past around New Year's), it just had signage up claiming that a HJ's was coming soon. No mention of Pie Face, however.

HJ's is hidden around the back of that particular OTR.
