Thomson and Playford have moved into this building. In the courts opposite today and I could see all the desks and office workers inside. Great looking building and the top floors have some nice outdoor spaces with chairs and the like.

A bit more information regarding the restaurant at ground level:

Apparently it will be called 'Aramis Vineyards' and it will incorporate outdoor dining.

An application was lodged to the ACC for the $80 000 fitting for the new restaurant.

The final ground floor tenancy in this building has been leased.

On January 19, 2010, plans were lodged with the ACC to convert the vacant tenancy into a hotel (pub) with outdoor dining area. The venture will be called "Gouger Street Hotel".

This project is expected to cost upwards of $300 000.

If there was a Like button, I'd click it right now, and duck all the things thrown by other members for degenerating into tiresome Facebookery.

Must have been some heavy brainstorming to come up with that name

While not imaginative, don't discount the value of 'it does what it says on the label' marketing. already you know it's a pub and it's on Gouger street, just from the name.

Or perhaps that's just a place holder name until the design people get hold of it.

It might tell me where it is, but it also tells me it would probably be a pretty unimaginative place - another pub like every other, serving the same drinks to the same people in the same setting. Not to mention, it's easily confused with the equally unimaginatively named 'Bar on Gouger'.
(It's also a rare day when a client lets the a designer name the project, although there's many times when they should. ;) )

In any case, seems like an odd space to lease to a pub, from what I've seen walking past.

This is a good move actually. That end of Gouger seems to be heading towards a more Bar-ish feel.

Let's just hope for everyone's sake they aren't allowed to put pokies in it.
