I hope the carpark turns out better than Flinders Link. How many more carparks do we need in the cbd?? We will never convince people to take public transport if there is a vast amount of carparks available in the city...

I don't know how accurate this is but my understanding is Adelaide City Council require a certain amount of new carparks to be built with each development eithier office or residential depending on the size of the development...

Have a look a part 6 of the plans. Would have to be the best Architecture shown on an Adelaide building - ever. The use of heritage elements with modern styling is awesome.

I'm hoping like hell this gets built. Most impressive design for a long time (excluding Currie st obviously)

That's awesome. Just hope it doesn't get dumbed down by the time it's built like Hassell's designs for IAG, Santos and SA Water have.

I admit that it's better than some of the recent proposals, but for people to claim that it's the best high-rise in Adelaide is a sad indictment on the quality of the architecture in Adelaide. I personally give this building a 5.5/10.

Zzzzz... only marginally better than Flinders Link, and if they use that godawful green glass again, it will be just as ugly.

4/10

Not sure if you were referring to what Pikey said Will, but I think he was specifically referring to the integration of the heritage buildings as the best piece of Architecture in Adelaide, and I agree with him - it's a really innovative way of mixing old and new.

Apart from that, the building 's a bit meh. I mean, it's good but it's another glass cube with pods that'll probably be taken out by the time construction comes around.

It's about time developers allowed Architects to let loose - the creativity's there, they just need to be given the funds to use it.

I respect that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but in my opinion this building looks a lot like the IAG Building, plus the '1876' lettering above the heritage listed cottage is very tacky. And I suspect that all the interesting elements of the buildings such as the yellow pods will be removed once construction has commenced.

I just think the execution is clever. Heritage buildings "entombed in layers of glass, with the facade of the carpark "peeling" back to remove them.

I think you'll find that the glass will be clear.
