I agree it's like they have merged Santos & IAG (the buildings).

It's not very exciting. The proposed 374-400 KWS does a much better job of making a big glass box look elegant.

No sure if anyone has seen any approval for demolition, but temporary fencing went up around this site today. looks like they might be clearing the site soon??

Well, at least the fencing went up around the car wash (old petrol station), and the heritage buildings on roper street. Oddly, not around the restaurant on the corner of wakefield & roper though.

Demolition work appears to have started on the stone building. I thought the stone building was being kept with the car park constructed around it.

Thanks Ben. I assume the second rendering (the one in the newspaper cut out) is the final design. This one has a glass veil on the western facade (Roper Street) similar to VS1.

Cheers

I wouldn't regard the latest design as being 'watered down'. The main difference is the western facade. Where now it will be covered by a glass veil instead of what could have been double-glazed glass pods or cement or other non-transparent heat stopping material (maybe similar to Swiss Pearl) on the window shades (that look a lot like balconies). The northern facade looks like the uninspiring one with most of it being blank (due to fire regulations I would assume).

Cheers

I think because of the impending demolition (that will happen before construction).

Cheers

The ABS says that demolition & site prep != construction in its building commencements survey. It is something the never-built SGIC building on the site of Thomson Playford is testiment to.
