It will probably also mean another crane in the east end.... We could have 6 next year in the east end.

One of the good things about all these student hostels going up is that they improve the vibrancy of the city at night. Adelaide CBD is pretty quiet most weeknights (except for friday night). During the week a lot of students are in the city in the day but then the majority of them go home to the suburbs at night time.

Let me tell you right now.
Forget buying into these. The price seems good, but those apartments are so ridicously tiny, you'd think you were living in a luxurious prison.

I see. I am currently renting an apartment on south tce (about 50 square meters). Would these "Freedom Space" apartments be smaller than the one I rent? Cheers

If you go and take a walk to the site you'll notice the block if land is probably smaller
than a normal block of land in the suburbs. This in itself is a fair
indication that the apartments will be shoeboxes !!!

Anybody been past the site recently? Just wondering if this is still under construction or if it has halted?

They're doing the excavation at the moment.

I drove past this site very quickly about a month ago. I think they were doing foundation works then, eg piling and concrete works.

Not sure what stage it is at now though?

I had a look on Saturday. Piling is complete, ground slab pored, jump form for core is built. No sign of a crane base though.
Walking on over....
