Looks great, although the cynic inside me can't help but think it's a giant April Fool's joke.

If it is real, it would be interesting that they've been bold enough to put this up considering the state of the money market at the moment. They've either got some good financing sorted or they're really confident in Adelaide.

Hehe, I'm divided as well. Dunno whether to believe it or not. If a developer contacted S-A directly, either we've done a really good job getting attention or someone is lying to get attention.

Nothing to do with the rendering, as you know (look at Spire) they are never perfect, it's the date and when Howie started the thread: very late on March 31st., on the verge of April Fools. He has been very cheeky by editing a couple of posts early on... But you got to hand it to him... he picked a nice looking tower. Now let us know who the architects are...please?

I expected this, happens every year. As I was typing in the adress for this site, I was musing to myself, what will they come up with this year for an April's Fool's joke?

Besides the fooling around, a tower like this on the Planet site would be sublime, but I would be happy to see it anywhere in that eastern part of the CBD core. The height is perfect. Maybe some of the councillors should have a look. Howie, I think you should post more renderings and get more here to salivate.

Well... on second thoughts. Maybe this is serious?

The rendering with its angle to the city grid & the sun angle and shadowing of the Black Stump is very accurate. It would have taken ages to find a building on the net, to cut&paste, to match those proportions correctly, had it been an Aprils fool's joke. Also, having saved it onto my computer and zooming in for myself, its be superimposed onto the image flawlessly, obviously the work of a master graphics guru.

Let alone all the speculation of late that there have been a few developers designing landmark towers for Adelaide, and I do recall earlier on the year one of the members saying that there was a design in the works...

At the moment nothing is concrete, we won't go public till we get confirmation... it's difficult to say much more other than some "parties" are seeking a new height for Adelaide.

It all fits together, the jigsaw pieces... for now, I'll believe it.
