News & Discussion: New Tallest Building
Re: #Proposal: 158m Adelaide Tower
Wowza.
I have always been impressed with diagonals.
If the render is anything to go by; nice color clad too.
If you don't mind Howie, maybe you could X post this in Ozscrapers, would be interesting to see some interstate opinions. I suppose it will make it there anyway.
Cheers for the news.

Will do Done, as soon as I get heights/elevations/possibly some more renders today.. very exciting, for Adelaide anyway, will be non-complying obviously... we'll see what they (the developers) have to say about that today. Haven't confirmed the site, anyones guess.. possibly old Planet?
Re: #Proposal: 158m Adelaide Tower
That's fkn awsome. Is this a real proposal
Just came off skycraper city and this one will be great to show to those interstate bastards (loved reading the fight between crawf, cruise and hayds (WA) on the 0Zcity skyline forum )
Anyway, i hope the ACC will consider such a project after such proposals as 20-22 currie street narrowly got approved fingers crossed.

Re: #Proposal: 158m Adelaide Tower
Looks like it's right next door to the Black Stump. Can't think off the top of my head what's on that spot now, though.
It's = it is; its = everything else.
You're = you are; your = belongs to.
Than = comparative ("bigger than"); then = next.

Re: #Proposal: 158m Adelaide Tower
If this does in fact appear to be on land currently taken up by the Princes Apartments beside the Grenfell Tower, this would explain why two of my friends in separate apartments have been recently told that they may be required to seek new accommodations in 2009/10.
Re: #Proposal: 158m Adelaide Tower
It's interesting to note the use of an old photo in the render, perfectly showing our little changed skyline in the almost two last decades.
Then bam, this comes along smack in the middle, looks awesome.
But surely a lot of office space, will we have this much demand in the future?

Re: #Proposal: 158m Adelaide Tower
Just looking on Google Earth.. still haven't got my bearings right but this might help. Quite a few options there by estimating floorplate sizes.
Check out it's proximity to Currie Street Tower.. if they both go up that'll be nice!

Hopefully some company like BHP (or another mining company) makes it their new homeDone wrote:It's interesting to note the use of an old photo in the render, perfectly showing our little changed skyline in the almost two last decades.

Re: #Proposal: 158m Adelaide Tower
This really isn't funny... especially since its only still march 31st in the States, its not even April Fools ...........
Re: #Proposal: 158m Adelaide Tower
If that is an April fools stunt it is a good one. Look at the sun angles and shading on the render - in alignment with the sun as it is.
Also on location, the Black Stumps shadow is clearly visible on the facade of the building so it looks as though it is right next door (Princes Apts).

Re: #Proposal: 158m Adelaide Tower
Bloody brilliant news, I thought it wouldn't be long before a building taller than Westpac would be proposed. Its look very sleek, welcome addition to the skyline.
It looks like it is the Prince Apartments site though it would be ridicolous if its true considering the building was redeveloped recently. I'm hoping for the Planet site eitherway its very good news for Adelaide, theres been alot of talk for quite some time (young and old) that Adelaide needs to change and this will definitely help this. Who knows next proposal, 180m for City Central?Omicron wrote:If this does in fact appear to be on land currently taken up by the Princes Apartments beside the Grenfell Tower, this would explain why two of my friends in separate apartments have been recently told that they may be required to seek new accommodations in 2009/10.
Re: #Proposal: 158m Adelaide Tower
Looks great, although the cynic inside me can't help but think it's a giant April Fool's joke.
If it is real, it would be interesting that they've been bold enough to put this up considering the state of the money market at the moment. They've either got some good financing sorted or they're really confident in Adelaide.
