A few photos from today. It seems strange in a way to see "Final Clearance" signs still hanging at the back of the demolished section, but with just a big pile of twisted metal underneath them!

The photo above with the Malls Balls will make a great reference point for a before and after photo. Great shots of a sad subject. Looks like they are really going full steam ahead with the demo...

Visited the site again today about 3.30pm and not only was it under demolition, it was on fire!

5 fire engines attended along with a police patrol and an ambulance.

I think the fire had been put out by the time they attended because I didn't see the fire crews actually using any hoses or extinguishers, but there was certainly a lot of smoke billowing out of the Grenfell street side of the building and it filled Da Costa arcade really badly!

Also the Events store next to Harris Scarfe has now closed and is being cleared out today.

On the Rundle Mall facade the doors have been opened up now that there is a hoarding in front of them to stop people wondering in.

A wooden hoarding has been erected on Rundle Mall at the front of the bit that was demolished a few days ago, flush to the rest of the building.

I've noticed since the roof has gone, a single room, sorta up above the rest of the building, in its own tower per se'
anyone know anything about this

What will become of that little laneway shown on that picture between Zu and Dusk? If I recall correctly it only goes halfway to Grenfell Street and then stops dead although to be honest I'm struggling to picture what it looks like down there (despite looking down it a probably a thousand times as I've walked past).

If given attention something really great could be created with it as part of this development. I'm guessing it'll be an opportunity wasted though.
