The site is all now surrounded with fencing and the preliminary demolition looks to be taking place.

So it's gained two floors, awesome. Any guess on the height?

The render we have is 15 levels.

generally Office buildings are 4m per level plus roof plant ect so 15 x 4 = 60m plus plant (I'm not sure how hieghts work for emporis so not sure if that would be counted).

Plant rooms, spires, chimneys, clock towers and similar things are all included in a building's architectural height. So in regard to this building the plant room would be included.

Items which do not contribute to a building's height included things such as antennas, flagpoles, air-conditioning apparatus and similar.

Wow! Those renders show the huge changes we can expect at that end of town. Total transformation. Can't wait. Thanks Ben. Good to see them all together in renders.

Thanks Ben. Bring on the high rises!

Interesting to note that the artist is persisting with a new-style tram stop out the front in the new renders. Perhaps the developers would like to put up the money to see it happen :D

Good spotting. I didn';t notice that. I work in the Optus building and would love to see that happen!

Isnt there a tram stop just 50m away from the Optus building anyway? Its called South Terrace.

But yes, I would hope that the City South stop, as well as the entire King William Street south is redevloped akin to its Northern side.

Excellent. It's a really distinctive building, and how good does that little corner look when you include Wave and Edge?!
