Great to be left with an untreated, concrete west facing wall thanks to the second stage not proceeding!

Just another reason, together with the recent office/staged car parking approvals, that planners need to be very careful when approving staged developments. Really need to factor in the possibility of the additional stages not proceeding into their assessment.

Nothing to worry about, methinks. Suddenly the site has an extra hundred metres of airspace to play with, and it makes no sense to rush into underdevelopment. I'm sure a prime site like that will eventually rise to cover Aurora's western wall.

Naming rights for this building have recently been sold with signage to go up shortly.

Wonder if it will be Microsoft as they have a large portion of the space.

Can't see it happening....they are still trying to sell/give away stock in tower 1 and can't... Why would they build tower 2 ... Plus don't think UrbanConstruct really exist in Adelaide anymore.... I think they have gone to Qld...Comments?

I don't think Urban Construct exists anymore, anywhere.

The owner of the company, Jmaes Rice has moved to the Gold Coast though.

Not quite true....if you google Nifsan [Japanese comapany] and Emerald Lakes, Gold Coast you will see UrbanConstruct are involved as jv partners in this development.

131-135 Pirie Street has been sold by Urban Construct so I think it is safe to say that the western tower has been cancelled.

Sorry to bring up an old thread. The guy in the cafe here said they have had people drawing up plans for the site next door with a large tower. he did not know more than that. Would be great to see those run down buildings go.

I believe that property changed hands about 18 months ago to a investor group, so that is great news.

thanks for the update Ben.
