Clearly it's not finished until it's covered with vines — bare metal frames aren't the intended look.

Interesting I must say. If the sun actually comes back in summer, it may grow quicker

Meh. I walked by today and the arbour section is tiny relative to the structure, and not nearly as ugly. Barely noticeable and will be covered with greenery soon enough anyway.

Would appreciate if someone can grab a quick happy snap on their phone next time they're wandering past? Cheers.

How can they justify $35,000 on that??? No wonder the council have no money to finish anything properly!! I could have done it for $500

Come next Spring, you'll all be wondering what the brouhaha was about.

Saying that, I also can't fathom how it amounted to $35,000. C'mon ACC, those pennies are precious!

I'll wait to pass judgment until the vines are up, but one thing that won't change and it's synonymous with a lot of art and design, including building, in Adelaide, is that whatever the sculptures are at the bases of the steel work, they miss the mark. They have no reference point to the rest of the structure, are too awkward and messy to be contemporary and not intricate enough to be the opposite.

It's like a lot of the ACC-driven street art that's around the place and a lot of their splash Adelaide initiatives, they just miss the mark of being contemporary or alternatively, a good kind of retro and look thrown together, but at the same time, inorganic.
