This was breaking news this morning at 891. Hyatt. 180 m. 400 construction jobs. Opening 2023. I honestly get the sense we're building momentum toward having the Com games with all these hotels coming onboard by 2026. :2cents:

Does that mean it would commence in 2021? Is it definitely this site? Hopefully there is a press release soon.

Just seen a tweet from Matthew Pantelis from 5AA.

$180m, 27 storeys, 295 rooms, 400 construction jobs, 200 ongoing jobs. Work starts next year.

Well there's my hopes for a new tallest gone. Anyhow, looking forward to watching this one go up.

No blank walls! A unique design! I don’t believe it. Should be a great addition to the skyline :applause:

The fly through makes it look between 115m and 125m in height.

It is taller then Telstra but slightly shorter than westpac.

So a Hyatt. I wonder if Park Royal is still looking to set up in Adelaide, perhaps jostle with W Hotel for 75 KWS?

Looks great. Shame they couldn't push it all the way up to new tallest but will really help with bulking up the skyline.

North facing view from the sky bar, which I assume is the roof top bar mentioned in the articles.

Great that Hyatt are returning, wish it could have been around 140 - 150m but agreed good to bulk up the skyline with a 100+.

So adding to the list we'll have:

Hyatt
QT
Sofitel
Adelaide Oval
Crowne Plaza
Sky City
Westin
Wyndham

The existing ones are going to feel the pinch.

by how good is he
While I'm happy its happening it seems a strange place for a Hyatt. I have always found Pirie St at nights and weekends empty/dead with nothing much even open..I think North Tce would have been a more appropriate location or even 88 O'Connell St. C&G [with the previous Govt] had a hotel in their proposal for Lot 14 facing the Botanic Garden and ideally a "Hyatt on the Park" there would have been ideal.
