Mountain Designs has closed next to former Lorna Jane on Rundle Street which is still vacant. Alannah Hill has also closed on Rundle Street. A whole heaps of vacancies on Rundle including the old American Apparel still.
That was a weird one. They had a "stocktake sale" and then they closed and took all the stock away. Well not all the stock, a couple of homeless people are wearing Moutain Design t-shirts.
The amount of properties being repossessed in the entire state is actually quite low.

Who said anything about repossession?

Didn't last long in the scheme of things... Always seemed to be busy when going past there.

The rent must be too high. It has the biggest turn over out of any food court. Lower the rent and you'd have a steady reliable tenant base as well as customers having consistency and certainty.

Yet again, no prior warnings.
Straight Outta The Blue as usual!

That was the only one in South Australia so far.
Presumably unable to compete with Guzman Y Gomez.

But there may be another one opening somewhere else in the near future.

I hate bashing businesses. But Mad Mex provided me with the worst mexican food experience ive ever had. Thats even comparing it to Adelaide Oval nachos.

So im not suprised its shut.

The hoarding on the old Roger David store in Rundle Mall has OPSM written on it. I presume they're not moving from their swanky new store in RMP- maybe they're moving their Bagot House branch on North Terrace? Or opening a third store within a 50m radius?

Typing this in City Cross funnily enough - I too just noticed Mad Mex's closure for the first time.

I earlier saw Movenpick on the corner of Leigh and Hindley has closed down too. Signs on the door read 'Opening 15 January' but I don't think that ever happened.

That site has been completely abandoned. There's dead plants, half drunk beers, rubbish, unopened letters and smashed windows inside. It's a dump now. Great reflection on a "prominent tourist walking path."
Walking on over....

Mad mex and movenpick were both good little eateries, and whenever I was at either, were well attended. Pity they've both bitten the dust.

I don't know if anyone visits the lobby (food cafeteria) at 11 Waymouth St, but the 6 bustling eateries there is now slowly reduced to just one sole trader, Lena's. Perhaps the rent was way too high?
*Looks at Dyson Airblade Factory* "I say we take off and nuke the entire site from orbit, it's the only way to be sure"
