Dr Marten's opened on Gawler Place today in the Edments Building (in the tenancy next to where Monday's was).

Forever New at city cross also opened today.
Former Billy Baxters now converted into 'CofTea' after sitting dormant for three years.

I almost want them to fail with a name as terrible as that.

Between the trade names, there was 'Dorsal Fin' and 'Fig Jam'.

KFC in Myer Centre has closed recently a big black hoarding has been put over it. Unsure if its just closed for reno or closed permanently. It has definitely made McDonald's even busier now being the only fast food chain in there.
Not sure if posted elsewhere, but the Pulteney St tenancy next to Romeo's, currently being fitted out, has "KFC Pulteney St" on the construction signage.

Expected. Sushi Train were also meant to be opening in the tenancy behind NIKE within the centre... Not a fan of KFC, but good to see this centre finally filling out with tenants. Now they just need to hurry up and upgrade the building's facade as proposed?

Its sad that the gateway to Rundle Mall, supposedly our prime shopping precinct (from Rundle St) will be a KFC & Chemist Warehouse. Not long ago it was Australian Fashion Labels/Sanity Music/Telstra etc.. maybe it’s a sign of the times that only lower cost/high turnover businesses can pay the big rents?

It's a bit ironic, isn't it? On what many would regard as the trashier side of the mall, by that I mean, leading into the tired-looking Hindley Street is Haigh's and Charlesworth Nuts, meanwhile on what has long been regarded as the bourgeois end of the mall leading into Rundle Street, you now have a Chemist Warehouse and KFC. Keeping the balance, perhaps?

Travel Money Oz on Grenfell St (south side) has been transformed into a new Flight Centre branch.
Good idea in my opinion because the one on the north side closed a few years ago.

As most on here suspected, the former Subway/Krispy Kreme on Rundle Street is being fit out as an OTR Convenience.

Rundle Mall is about to lose a big retailer.

I am pretty sure some mentioned a couple of months ago that Harris scarfe were struggling.

The rumours were true.

Harris Scarfe has gone into voluntary administration but will keep trading through at least Christmas while they look for a buyer.

Remembering that they’ve gone broke before (in 2001), I reckon they’ll probably keep going in some form or another. But if not, that’s a significant space to have vacant.

Have to say too, the city store looks completely dead whenever I happen to go into it. Aside all the other challenges for retail atm and department stores in particular, I often wondered if the loss of a ground level presence in Rundle Plaza was a significant detriment.

Something seems suss as they were only sold to a local investor a few weeks ago....
