Am I missing something? I am standing in Rundle Mall right now and the lights are off.

The new lord mayor knows you're there and he's messing with you. He knows you want to take photos :x

Shhh they were just testing them during the week. They had them all off again for Friday night. Obs an "official" opening will come later.

Seems like tonight is the first night the new lights have been on permanently.
I agree that they're not bright enough. This project has been a massive
stuff up.

At least the mall pavers aren't slippery

They definitely could be more bright. Hopefully this can be adjusted.

I went throught tonight and for after hours (11pm) the lighting was perfect for that time.

I'd imagine the lighting will be brighter when the mall is open though.

How do the spires look at night?
Are the top bits lit up?

They glow the same blue as the under seat lighting.

I went for a waddle down the Mall last night at around 10pm. The light levels are just right. Enough to cast a faint shadow of yourself on the ground, but not too much to make it glarey. The balance between the overhead lights and the shop lights is good. Very twilight.

I think it turned out well.

Walking down the mall during the day and I don't find these to be intrusive or take away from the open air feel the re-development has breathed into the space. After seeing all of the doom and gloom posts as the fixtures were being errect, I expected much worse.

The only thing during the day that was a tiny disappointment was that the light shades are a lot bigger and darker than expected and the cables + electrical cables are a lot thicker/blacker than expected. I was going by the artist's impression which showed a less noticeable, light grey colour

The paver patching is near completion, the only thing they need to address now is the poo smell at the Pulteney Street end from the sewer.
