I see this site out of my office window every day - nothing exciting happening there for sure. Just an expensive carpark (its about $15 a day and you don't even get to be undercover. The carpark behind my office is $16 a day earlybird and you are undercover)

Someone ought to make sure the council knows it's being used as a car park

I would think they already know as there is a ticket machine on site.

Interestingly, this site has been fences off for about a week now. You would think that if it continuing to be used as a car park, they would still have it open.

by how good is he
Possibly ACC and permit issues. Similar scenario/fencing on the former carpark site on Hutt St.

The new application is for 16 levels. Mixed use office and service apartments. Maybe another quest?

Quest no longer seem to operate in the T&G Building, so they might well be looking for more apartments -- although there's already the proposal at 98-100 North Terrace.

I walked past this site the other day and a small transportable building was getting built. Kinda looked like it could end up being a sales office 🤔

Given the state of other developments that look decent in renders but have turned out horse shit in reality... yeah I’m not in love with this.

I think I've heard you speak positively about developments on this forum maybe five times max? You're very negative.

For what it's worth, I think this development looks reasonable for what is a fairly small site.

I’m real.
I’m real because I’ve spent the last oh I don’t know ten to fifteen years looking forward to the change and development this city has been longing for, only to see a lot absolute crap get built.

Adelaide isn’t a city where a bad development is hidden by many good ones or a one where it’ll be demolished in 10/15 years. We have these ugly boxes for a very long time.

All I ask is that those approving the proposals need to ensure that a certain bar is met for quality.
Something like this for example doesn’t have to be redesigned but the quality of the finishes need to be at a certain level to make this even okay and let’s be real that isn’t going to happen, given our track record. It’s not the worst certainly but if you think this is acceptable, and on our most prominent CBD corridor, then that’s on you.

It’s just my opinion, I’m not going to sit there and sugar coat. I’ve learnt over the years to see past the renders and visualise what something like this will actually look like.

I love Adelaide and new development, despite all the crap, it still gets me excited. I’m always delighted to be proven wrong.
