I would have expected some uplighting of the curved roofline to highlight what will be an iconic roof form. Does anyone know if this will be happening?

They should have left the history to the back and the cricket change rooms and 50 year member areas where they've incorporated actual parts of the old stands, rather than tried to mimick them. They look great. The side and front facing bricks however, really don't. Hopefully they've got some spare cash and the inclination to render over them.
I otherwise think the western stand holds up really well and won't date quickly at all.
As for the development on the whole, it's amazing. I'm a bit of a traditionalist when it comes to cricket and was worried that the special feel of AO might be destroyed, but I made it down to the Shield game for a while over two days and think they've done a really good job of keeping AO unique at the same time as modernising it and turning it into more of a stadium.
