Quite like the building, but the white stripe parts are killing me!!! Was thinking this was a cover they would eventually peel off, but obviously not

I thought exactly the same thing when I drove past this one the other day.Pikey wrote: The moment it was built it had the same "time stamp" as the Black stump on Grenfell street.
Even though it was built in the 70s the Black Stump looks a lot less dated than pretty much any other building that was built in Adelaide for at least 30 years after it (particularly some of those terrible 70s and 80s buildings- Telstra House, Stamford Plaza, etc). I wouldn't put 152 Grote Street quite in the same category, but I am confident it will stand the test of time a lot better than similar recent projects.

I like the Vue too. It has a refined, classy look. I'm optimistic it's colouring isn't threatening to date it fast, after all look at the Sydney Opera House and its brown glass. It's height and length is ideal for continuing to establish King Will's height and importance.Wat'cha talkin' about, Willis?
I quite like Vue. It's not your boring glass box. And as much as I like them, it's not a modernism school replicant. It has a nice bronze colour to it and some interesting angles with the balconies, which are reminiscent to the balcony angles in 152 Grote Street.

It's been photographed several times already, but I'm very impressed with how well this has turned out. As I mentioned before, I think this may have turned out a tiny bit better if they had used a darker black for the cladding, as it would contrast better with the white and red, but that's very minor.
Hopefully this developer has more planned for the area. In particular, the whole city block that this one is located on is full of sites with large footprints ripe for redevelopment. I would like to see a little family of high rises develop on this block if possible, kind of like West Franklin.

Looks fantastic!... dare say it, maybe the best looking building since SAHMRI
Here's hoping there is an announcement soon for the Bus Station site. It's such an ugly eyesore and not the best of first impressions for bus travellers.

It looks exactly like the render in that last shot. Don't think we have said that about a completed building before!

Again, don't expect any plans for the old bus station any time soon as it is already being used by a number of organisations, one of which I'm associated with.
That is a really good angle of the Central Adelaide Apartments. It's turned out really well

I think the outside is a darker black in real life than in Slenderman's picture.

I'm sure it houses some great community organisations, though the building and it's large patch of bitumen is a complete eyesore. With Franklin Street being overhauled with new high rise developments and located perfectly opposite Chinatown, it won't be long before something major is announced.timtam20292 wrote:Again, don't expect any plans for the old bus station any time soon as it is already being used by a number of organisations, one of which I'm associated with.

That land is pure gold, I actually can't believe it still hasn't been developed. So glad however The Precinct failed, or we would of ended up with 3x Altitude towers here.

Some pictures from today Tuesday 18/4/17. This project was officially handed over two weeks ago. There are possibly 2 shop fronts at the street level and note the red area above the south east corner and the red & black cladding on the east side car park levels 2,3 & 4.

All the external lights were left on last night. Quick phone camera shot.

Thank you for confirming this Brando. Walking home last night, I thought I could see the building lit up but I couldn't tell from where I was. Excellent photo!

Didn't get a photo, but this looked terrific all lit up when viewed from the Morphett Street Bridge last night. A great addition to that part of the CBD.
