I think this building has turned out quite well.

It just needs a bit of street level activity and colour and this will make a fine addition to KWS :)

While differing from the renders, the finished product is impressive (and quite imposing too - in a good way). Definitely well positioned at the southern end of KWS too.

I think it would have been nice if the vertical supports could have been set further back, so that you don't see them from street level. Would have given a much more impressive impression that the glass box was floating above the lower levels. Annoyingly for me, it looks like it's going to finish as soon as I move away from the area (same goes for Edge/Wave) :(

I like it. Nothing innovative but sleek. Something this side of the city needs.

Yeah not bad this. The striped effect is a tad 80s but overall a good adition. It also helps a tiny bit with a sense of enclosure for Vic Square when seen from the northern end of that space.

I'm trying really hard to like this building. I don't dislike it and can't find too much wrong with it, but it's all a bit meh.

How's that for insight?

The eastern blank wall has now been half painted. Bye bye bare concrete (sniff) and hello dark grey. Still a missing glass panel on the eastern side (as well as the one on the King William St side)

To me this building varies from a bit on the bland side to somewhat striking depending upon the time of day, viewing angle etc. In the evening the western facade often takes on a crystalline quality which can be quite impressive - not a great photo but you get the gist:

I hope the ACC is going to replace the trees that have gone missing on King William Street. The facade there looks so bland. I don't hate this building but I think what could have made it better would have been the inclusion of some diagonal (zig-zag) indentations or lines from the top corners to the centre (entrance on KWS).

Cheers

Totally agree about the trees. Will be far more attractive to any alfresco activity as well. Colour from neons/adverts will break any bland element IMO - Ie like on SA Water BLDG.

ACC will replace the trees with semi matures... at the developers cost as usual... they just dont replace them in summer due to the heat, even though these tree are super hard wearing, they dont like being transfered from the plantations during the hotter months.

From the top of the ATO Building:

Love the glass. This building reminds me of a cuboid iceberg floating above KWS.

Makes perfect sense. Thanks for the info.
