Oh, I see the twice-yearly tree debate is back on.

Gum trees are great
But are they necessary in the CBD and parkland?

Any tree is susceptible to strong winds, not just gums.

We all just need to respect when someone has Dendrophobia.

Dont think this pic or a similar one has been posted, did a quick check but 57 pages..decent view/idea of the floorplate shape.
Also gives another view of how dated the general area is...

Speaking of lack of trees, check out lot 14 North Tce. Its going to be a long hot summer.

Ideally the riverbank needs a bunch of shorter trees that can link the existing red gums together while not blocking out the view of the riverbank buildings, and still proving all the shade/windbreak/temperature/etc benefits that trees bring

I'm not against gums
I just reckon in the CBD we can also use other trees
I love Hyde Park in Sydney . Just think how bad it would be if it was full of gums . You want gums , head to the suburbs, bush or the Blue Mts. They are not your showpiece Park trees .

We should cut down trees when they are getting in the way of better options.

So plant better stuff, then when it reaches the point gums are limiting its growth remove the gums.

Until then perfect is the enemy of good.

This is a week old (sorry, forgot to upload), but shows a different perspective from other photos and also shows the Festival Tower columns starting to come out of the ground!

Do the columns wed this site to the existing design or would it be possible for another design to be engineered to the same supports? I know it's extremely unlikely, but I do like to fantasise that by the time the carpark's done the tower will be redesigned into something more befitting the location. The current one is very unfortunate (from what I can gather anyway, given the plans have never been made publicly available).

Surely they would be able to at least change the exterior, perhaps to a curved design to fit in with the Sky City expansion?

A design in a similar glass and shape to the casino would really tie in the area and prevent it from looking like a hot mess.
Hell even a similar colour glass would help bring both developments together nicely.

Kodos only saving grace is that it’s colours continue on from the court house, in some type of way.
