Not going to lie though, I am disappointed about the height decrease. Only because we desperately need 100m+ buildings in the city.

I think it looks ok. Realistically the chance of a 34 level building with the current amount of residential apartments on the market is fairly unlikely in my opinion. As long as we get a building over nine'teen' stories i will be happy.

So does anyone know exactly what the movment on the site has been about? I noticed they've been doing some poking around on the site and paint markings for lane diversions appeared over the past couple of days.

Uno's western facade isnt that bad. It's got more than one colour, there's some different shapes and the vine running up the middle of it is nicely established.

Also, re: lane markings on waymouth, seems there's something at 100 Waymouth (beyond bank) that the diversion is being put in for, not this site.

As others have said, unfortunate about the height drop - seems so common for the tall proposals but pleased it is over 18 floors. Appealing design IMO.

The impression i get is the only thing stopping them is demand.

If we just want blocks of 40lvl serviced apartments just for height's sake, it's not going to make for much of a city.

I've said it before on this forum ... the most important determinant of CBD apartment demand is PRICE. The demand for CBD living is definitely there, but not at any price.

Every development which has sold well has been sensibly priced.

Couldn't agree more . The western wall on Uno could be far worse and no doubt could be far better . You have to ask yourself if you were the developer would you invest large amounts of money on a boundary facade when the probability much like this building proposed will cover up the whole side of the building ......
