Yeah, I have to agree - excited but cynical! Hope it DOES 'get off the ground". The one I really want to see is Palladio.

ADELAIDE - TOWARDS A GREATER CITY SKYLINE

Here's a prime example... 20-22 Currie Street ;)

I think you are right. Even myself I'm starting to get more cynical.

Like what has happened to 64 Currie St?, the Flinders hotel proposal? etc

Spire, Pirie Street, 123 Flinders theres heaps. Unfortunatly I dont think we have the market it for them or they haven't been marketed correctly in the past.

Pirie St was never an actual proposal (at least the vision everyone on here got excited about), and last we heard of 123 Flinders, was that it was getting a height increase, not cancelled.

Pirie street was/is a proposal by Charter Hall. it is still on their books as "waiting for precommitment" story of our lives :)

Why cant it be a condition of targeted skilled imigration that they buy an inner city appartment? That would get the pre sales going, and prevent urban sprawl at the same time.

This image comes from the Loucas Zahos website.

It appears to show the location of this propsoed tower. It suggests that there may have been a design competition regarding this proposal, considering JPE appears to be the architects now.

Thanks for sharing Will. That's pretty spectacular for Adelaide standards. I hope JPE pull something as unique off. Their prior proposals are quite bland and not very interesting.

Just re-read the article and noticed this bit:
Each would house a garden space tall enough for mature trees.
Which brought to mind this recently published article on Arch Daily:
Can We Please Stop Drawing Trees on Top of Skyscrapers?

Well so much for "scrambling madly" to submit it to the DAC.
