Piling started this week. A lot of progress made. I wouldn't be surprised to see a crane next month.

I also wouldn't be surprised if this one finishes well ahead of schedule.Ben wrote:Piling started this week. A lot of progress made. I wouldn't be surprised to see a crane next month.

Certainly moving much quicker than the Uni Adelaide building is. It is a much smaller site in comparison though. I suspect this one will only have the one crane.

The part of the site that was dug out is now being levelled. Picture Saturday 8/8/2015. Note Adel Uni Medical School in background.

Unrelated to the centre of cancer biology but the unisa student hub opened today at open day. My friends are there now checking it out and the interior looks beautiful. If anyone is in the area I suggest checking it out and maybe posting some photos aha

This render was a lot nicer than the current one. Why do they have to dumb things down?!

Are you joking? This render was awful, as a lot of people on this forum say: "it's a glass box!"stronic wrote:This render was a lot nicer than the current one. Why do they have to dumb things down?!
The current design is far more sophisticated...
[COM] Re: UniSA - Centre for Cancer Biology | 72m | $220 million
A glass box? Heard that one before. It's not exactly a box, it had fantastic (yet subtle) curves.
Honestly, it's sophisticated and elegant. If anything, the CURRENT design is a box. You can't even see inside! Talk about dull.
Pure glass as a building facade actually always works out beautifully. Imagine it at night, with the transparent views showing everything going-on inside.

I don't think it was the official design, it was more so a concept.stronic wrote:A glass box? Heard that one before. It's not exactly a box, it had fantastic (yet subtle) curves.

If the glass was extremely high quality then it could of looked good, though I still prefer the current design. It's much taller, curvy, features an interesting exterior and roof line which could be lit up at night. It's also still very glassy.

I prefer the newer render. Bring it on!

At least we're still getting something sleek and glassy for the SkyCity Casino, unless they've changed that render as we'll.

Piling at lower level late last week.
