What happened to North Tce being our cultural boulevard?

All the trashy student accomodation thats gone up, the 100m~ one planned down east, and now this garbage.

Maybe we could stick another Chemist Warehouse in there.

I actually don't mind it the sandstone look seems to blend in with the adjacent heritage.

The "sandstone" ends up being poured in 172 different shades of grey at Adelaide "give a fuck" Brightons and looks like a lego model of Vienna's Haus des Meeres.

All that is lacking are Cuckoo Birds to come out and chime on the hour!

Colour blends in nicely with the Myer Centre

In the same way that a tacky Las Vegas casino has a Venetian look.

If this goes ahead, it’ll be the third recent student accomodation to be built over 100m (along with Twin St and the other North Tce one). Wonder when the market reaches saturation point.

In the same way Berlin would have that venetian look, if the concrete were "sand stone" colour, instead of "pigeon shit grey"

Yeah, and when it turns out to be a pile of dog shit, it'll be too late to change it, huh? I recall that being the same rhetoric used for Dwell, look how that panned out. The only way developers and pre-development people are going to win over the fence-sitting NIMBYs is by building eloquent high-rise buildings, this kind of development is only going to turn more people away from the idea of increasing our city's skyline.
