The lighting feature. The minute was a NYE countdown.

I saw the lighting when I went to the BBL match on 17th Jan. It looked great, and really added positively to the area. My friend from Sydney said the area had a real "Melbourne" feel about it, I assume he was referring to Southbank.

There was some neon lighting promoting the Adelaide Festival so I assumed it was a temporary thing for the Adelaide Festival? Would be terrific if the lighting was year round.

Overall I was very impressed with how the Torrens riverbank is changing and looking better and better all the time. The new eastern building for the Convention Centre add a lot to the area. When the new plaza and restaurants, casino, office building and riverbank lighting features are completed the area will be really good.

I'm surprised they didn't add the lighting feature to the Festival Theatre when it was built! It looks great.

So after you punched him in the face, did he apologise?

Back then the lighting features on theatres were a row of 1,000 incandescent light bulbs

An update 5/2/2018. Still a difficult site to photograph. The drive through goes under the centre of the picture.

Not sure if it's been posted anywhere else but I was reading an article on the ABC this morning about Adelaide's sewers (it's been a slow morning ) which contained a snippet about some old tunnels/archways which have been discovered beneath Station Road - most likely remains of the original Adelaide Railway Station...

Great photos and video of the Riverbank lighting. Just need to cut down those shabby trees, they detract from it so much.

I totally agree. And develop the walk way on the Adelaide oval side. Really give the entire area a good clean up/redevelopment. Baby steps I guess.

Couldnt disagree more... its all very well getting your 'post card shots' at night, but what about during the day in 30 degree baking sun. Trees and greenery are SO important for making an area feel nice and habitable.

The removal of trees does not make an area look any better.

The area needs to be tidied. As it stands there are just gum trees, a barley there foot path and the grass leading down to the river. Keep the trees but do more to the river walkway and landscaping.

This looks terrific, but are there plans to continue the blue lighting across the building?

It just kind of... stops.
