I don't know how but this building makes the eastern CBD highrises around Pulteney, Pirie and Flinders feel significantly taller.

Perception.
Fill the CBD up with buildings between Westpac and Telstra & Grenfell Center, and suddenly the CBD will look like a high rise paradise.
Until a much taller building goes up.

As the exterior starts to take shape I think it will be a good addition to the skyline.

I was trying to get a close up view of the blank side which is not easy . I think the so called blank effect has been over estimated. There are several folds in the building and there are a series of narrow floor to ceiling windows. some of the windows are currently boarded up. I am not sure of the actual final finish. Overall I don't think it is too bad. Picture corner of Nelson St & Carrington St.19/6/2018.

Today I got to fly past the CBD on a clear morning, Kodo is having a good impact from that view. Will be a nice addition to the skyline when finished.

From a far I like it. I really do wish they could have done more with the western wall given it looks over Vic Square, but I really apprecIte that they kept in colour scheme with the law courts. That’s really what allows this to work.

I won’t eat my words just yet. I’ll wait until it’s complete.

Glazing looks similar to whats been used on Victoria One in Melbourne (the 241m green glass Ellenberg Fraser desufbed tower on Elizabeth Street). Pretty nifty!
