Seems odd, I was of the mind they had positioned so it wouldn't need to be relocated to work on Stage 2, so disappointing to see it coming down with (apparently) no new base in place.

Well, the current crane's proximity to what will soon be occupied apartments wouldn't work. It wouldn't be too pleasant looking out your balcony and having a crane tower less than two meters away. The plan was to always move the crane for stage two. If I recall correctly, the crane will be core mounted for the next building.

I saw this building in person for the first time this morning - I was certainly impressed with the eastern and southern elevations as I drove past.
