I like this building but I have to say I think the finishing is a little poorer than I expected. However, the eastern facade is to become a green wall of sorts with planters already in place, so hopefully that growth covers some of the cheaper elements and boosts the overall look.

That gret colour between the windows looks unfinished. The renders had more warm tones through the body of the building. If there are more finishes to the facade I think it will look great as it's already well above the look of a lot of other developments.

If I remember it correctly, the proposal for the second tower's originally (year 2015) for 23 storey hotel. But I heard that there's a more recent approval for it to be reduced by 5 storeys. Could anyone confirm?

I don't remember what the outcome was and the amended plans I haven't been able to find online.
Perhaps someone on here is a resident in the new building and confirm the height and levels?

The Site Offices have been removed so may be a while before Stage 2 gets underway.

Not necessarily. If it’s a different builder for stage 2 (currently out for tender) they’d be bringing in their own gear.

One of the real estate agents selling apartments in the completed tower claims they will start the hotel still this year and plan to be done 2020...

Not the Hyatt, that is going on Pirie St across from the Telstra Tower.
This is the next stage of the Flinders St Apartment builds. Currently there are three recent apartment buildings with the timber slats etc, with an empty (now piling) parcel next door
