Damn that student tower sticks out like dog balls. Can only hope some decent towers on North Tce go up to hide it.
The Masonic Lodge is on North Terrace in front of it so it's going to be visible for decades to come.

There was a proposal several years ago, to demolish the hall at the back of the Masonic Lodge and build a 16 level apartment block.
This proposal if I recall was actually granted planning approval, but it never materialised.

Thus, there is hope this monstrosity can be blocked out sooner rather than later.
With things like opening the lodge up as a Fringe venue it seems like they are looking for cash so hopefully that does develop!

There's plenty of room there, as Will pointed out, although hopefully they go taller now with the precedent of two 100m~+ towers in the area.
And either side of Masonis hall they could do something as well. Though I'd imagine there might be a few more court cases about views

On the western side of the Masonic Lodge where the red brick Wilsons Carpark is seems like a perfect spot for a tall residential. The site directly to the east has the old houses/offices and I'd be surprised if they aren't heritage.

Pretty sure that site is owned by the University of Adelaide - I would suspect that at some point in the future this whole corner block (including the existing Nexus 10 building) will be developed by them.

Is that 295-297 Pirie St in the corner of that view? I think we can expect a few more apartments for sale in this building.

The more this grows, the more underwhelming I find it. Basic design let down by low quality materials. Compared to Realm, this feels budget. I took a heap of shots from different angles to see if I could find any redeeming features.

Well lets be honest, the renders didnt show anything inspirational.

This reminds me morr of a basic office tower so far then it does a resi tower.

You seem surprised Pikey? Considering the developer and his previous efforts in Adelaide, the budget compared to the scale of the development and as rev mentioned, the renders, I'm not sure how anyone could have pinned hope on this being anything half decent.

That glazing is so cheap looking, the renders showed something that looked more like Realm. :(

edit: The podium of the Uniting Communities tower on Franklin Street has better looking glass as well.

I was doubtful since day one. I guess I was trying to be optimistic hoping that it would end up ok. To the point I was trying to see if there was a protective film on the facade... but no. 'Tis looking like a turd.
