Check the first page of this thread, those elements are white in the render of the building.

At the time I think most of us would have assumed it was going to be some clean white concrete, but looking at how they've cheaped out on materials for the rest of the tower it's quite likely the plan all along was to be painted.

Though not the greatest building I thought it passable up to now but that finish is criminal

I may be in the minority but I definitely think those white strips make it look better

I too agree, the white helps to define the horizontal lines somewhat more. I think it is a huge improvement.

It definitely is, adds contrast that makes the glass look darker.

I concur the white stripes make it look marginally better.

I'm assuming that the student tower next door at 118NT will commence construction once this has finished, because from one of Brad's photos, it looks like the crane passes over the adjoining site currently. Would make sense that there would be a wait to avoid any construction conflicts. Having said that I would think also 118NT would use luffer cranes, not a hammerhead.

Looks like a piling rig is on 118 too.

This is going to be such a fugly cluster... though imagine is the student Accom turns out better than this. Lawl.

Its a stock standard building. Nothing great about it, nothing all that bad either. Simplistic more then anything else.

Agree. Adelaidean doesn’t win any beauty awards but it’s no shocker either.

It looks cheap. The quality of the glazing lets a simple design down. It could have been quote striking otherwise.

what is going on at the top? I can't work out whether there's more to be added with that step thing going on.

I shot this video earlier today at the Langman Reserve Lookout in Burnside, which is a superb location for any shots/documentation of the changing city skyline, but in this case I have mainly focused on Adelaidean and Realm. (11/1/2020)
