If this building happened, then we'd have the sixteenth tallest in the country, equal to Sydney's World Tower, and we'd make the list of tallest buildings in the country. It's nice to daydream.

That MahaNakhon looks absolutely beautiful! That level of artistry is something that the DAP should require for the landmark sites and prominently visible tallest towers. I hope one day we have a tallest building as unique and beautiful as that for Adelaide, it would become an icon.

Has anyone visted the tower in their travels to Bangkok and if so care to offer any comments as to the experience?

Why would we actively promote negativity about a possibly transformational project? Your form on this forum is poor lately mate.

At the risk of going off topic, how many life changing things were achieved by being a realist? None. If you're a realist, why are you even on this forum? People like you will keep the Adelaide skyline at 135m forever. Image

Well as a "realist", I do really think this one should be listed as a "Vision".

Not exactly a bold prediction considering that nothing even half as tall has been built since Westpac (yet, hopefully) and all we really know about it is a tiny little excerpt in slightly dodgy English.

I definitely agree to change it to VIS until a proposal is actually submitted.

I'm good with [VIS] until we see this submitted as a proposal.

I'm not being negative champ, I'm legitimately asking somebody to prove me wrong on why this proposal couldn't happen.

Are the developers being legit? Do they have a history of building things like this or are they like the Makris family and all talk
What is the industry like at the moment? Is there enough commercial demand? Is it mixed use?
What is holding something like this back? Flight paths, demand, the company's state, locals, etc?
What needs to happen for proposals like this to happen? A change in attitude from the Private Sector? A boom? Government intervention?

Unless those things are answered, as nice as the building looks, I am confident in saying it won't happen. It's reality. Prove me wrong. :)

Next time I make a shock-factor statement I will put a smilie next to my comment so people won't get as offended

After reading all of the other rubbish you've recently posted, I don't take this one seriously. :sly:

A one-liner on a website should not make anyone confident that this will happen, but saying straight away that it will fail is silly. Wait for a serious proposal. If it does fail to come to the construction stage after that, feel free to make negative comments about it.

Norman is right. This was only discovered last month, how about we wait for further information first.
it is scheduled to be officially introduced to the market in 2017, and fully launched in 2018.
It's good to be a realist, but it's also important to have optimism. Look it at this way, a couple of years ago the thought of potentially two new tallest buildings was seen as complete fantasy. Fast forward to 2017 and now look.

Eventually I can see a building around the 200m mark being built in the city.
