Thanks for the pic Ben. Good to see this one progressing quickly.

It is a shame 400KWS is taking a long time. But they seem to finally be excavating the northern portion 40KWS and there seems to be an increase in workers at the site this week.

I am just glad all of these projects are going ahead. It will be construction and crane central at this end of the CBD soon. Can't wait :D

Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.

Gives a great idea of the final appearance - Will be even better with the proposed? Brecknock and 400KWS - will start to look like a part of the CBD at last.

Sort of. It'll look like a hanger-on of the CBD until the space between it and Vic Square gets some hi-rises. Still, I'm not complaining, it's a huge improvement.
cheers,

Note I said 'start to' Rhino. Your thoughts are mine too. I want to see those next 2 northern blocks developed as well. Any inside info anyone?

I looked at the Wave site this morning. There were maybe 15 people working on a clean site, with a mobile crane putting the steel reinforcing down into the holes and a concrete mixer was also at work.

Then I walked to the 400KWS site and had a look. At one end were two guys fiddling around at the northern fire escape formwork. The whole place was awash with mud. At the other end of the site is an inclined access driveway, also full of mud. So full that a concrete pump truck was bogged halfway up and the guy was waiting for a tanother ruck to tow them out.

The comparison between the two constructin sites and methods was pretty striking.

Vary previous authorisation (DA/933/2006) to demolish existing building and construct 12 level office/residential building with ground floor retail tenancy, car parking on levels 1 to 3, offices on levels 4 to 6 and 8 apartments on levels 7 to 12 - Change levels 7 and 8 from apartments to office use, install external horizontal louvre screens from levels 5 to 8, replacement of single apartment on level 9 with two apartments and construction of an additional lift.
The changes have been categorised as Category 2, and are currently on public notofication.

These alterations which I reported are coning before the ACC DAP next Monday.

It is expected that the ACC DAP will grant planning APPROVAL to these changes.

Changes to Wave were approved last Monday at DAP.
Both Wave and Edge are proceeding with H&Y as Builder as is Hills HQ across the road.
Expected completions are:
Edge August 2009
Wave October 2009
Hills December 2009

In addition Marshall & Brougham are Builders for the CML Hotel where internal demolition is under way with completion as the Rydges CML Hotel due in December 2009.

It should be noted that the Architect and Interior Designer for all of these projects is JPE and remarkably for Adelaide projects of this scale they have not been forced into a joint venture with Interstate Architects. Total value of these 4 projects is around $200M.

Thanks Joy. Much appreciated.

Do you know when the cranes will go up and how many there will be? :)

Looks like JPE will be pretty flat out with contract admin next year.
