I get to enter and tour the construction site in the next couple of weeks as part of a report I need to do for a civil engineer course so I will take some pics around to give a better idea of what is occurring hopefully.

They don't usually bring in that size a temporary crane for long. I'm guessing a crane is on the way up. Only a guess though.

Looks like that bobcat could be digging out foundations for a crane base - maybe!

You were right. The crane base was installed yesterday. Possibly will go up this weekend or next.

Looks like it is of decent height. We finally have 8 cranes up. Hopefully the others will stay up for awhile and we can move into double digits for the first time ever in the CBD?

Amen to that - there have never been double digit crane numbers here. Will be a milestone for the commercial construction in Adelaide. Next one will be the 400 KWS, due in a week or so.

Looks like everyone beat me to commenting, haha. The lifting operation was quick, the pieces were all delivered only this morning, and the crane was still waiting to be assembled at midday today.

Good to see this crane go up so quickly. Although a few cranes will come down soon (eg 88, Ipad, Lot 8 etc) but hopefully a few more go up as well.

Are there any more sites left for future new buildings at Adelaide Uni. Nearly all the remaining buildings would just about be heritage listed, so they cant be knocked down, and you would still like to keep the remaining open spaces. With even more international students in the next few years ($$$$$$ :D ), they may have to acquire more properties in the CBD ie like the former AGC building at North/Pulteney

I also wish that former carpark over the road from Frome St/Rd could have been a development site, instead of returning it all to parklands, if that ever actually happens

I think thats a novel idea actually, the University has the potential to capitalise on the vacated heritage buildings of RAH complex when the hospital moves to the Marj and surely some land would be set aside for new development oppurtunities - but it seems that the vast majority (75%) would be encompassed as part of an expanded Botanic Gardens or new parklands.
