I haven't had a chance to check this one recently but I found this pic on flickr by r-Q taken early December. Not far off getting a crane rise considering there are still about 10 floors to go. The pre-cast concrete is no where near as orange in colour as the renders suggested thankfully.

LOL. It adds to the suspense and a surprising finish.

I know this one is not a fav of ours at all, but they are really getting a move on with this. Pity we still don't have any real idea of what we are going to end up with.
Detention centre or .........?

Crane rise over the weekend, and I dare say it's at it's final height, the climbing collar has been removed.

Not looking too bad compared to the original renders. Pics from this afternoon:

It looks like the Sturt Road mezzanine carpark of Westfield Marion.

This structure is really moving ahead very quickly and starting to become visible over the adjacent buildings.
Does not look to bad and the residents should add some more life to that part of Hindley street during the week.

Great photos crawf. To give an idea how far it has to go, the Roma Mitchell building will be totally covered by this once completed.
Still have no idea on what the final look of the tower will be though...

Someone mentioned earlier that it appeared topped out, and I would think so too as the roofline appears consistent with the adjacent building?
