I'm not to sure how well a nightclub would do in Mawson lakes. I can't see people going to Mawson lakes to go clubbing, as it lacks the other elements that make going to a place like the CBD worthwhile for a good night out.

it's probably true that a night club would not work but perhaps a bar or a few more pubs would be good...

Mawson Lakes is nice but it's a bit of a dead zone after hours.... it needs something more I think...

there used to be quite a few suburban nightclubs. this was not unusual at all in the 1980s.
however recent trends have been by councils to limit/prohibit them due to drunken behaviour annoying the local residents

The Village up at Golden Grove was quite popular a few years ago.

Someone should open a pub in the suburbs that doesn't focus on draining dollar coins into stupid machines and trying to palm off cheap shitty meals.

It would be a nice change of pace.

Does such a thing exist?

97 Elder Drive, Mawson Lakes - 7 x two-storey townhouses - currently on Cat 2 public notification.

It's evident that the blocks will fill up a bit slower given the state of the economy but I definitely think that once fully completed down the track, more work might (hopefully) be done to the train station to make it a bit more 'TOD' like. Seriously, so much potential with the centre, but DTEI mucked it up big time. I'm led to believe it wasn't Delfin's fault either.

Oh, and next to the nine level render on the previous page, an application was lodged with the Salisbury Council last month for (5-11 Metro Parade) for a building with two ground floor office tenancies and ten apartments / townhouses.

The dissappointing thing about Mawson Lakes is the mixture of tenancies. More restaurants/wine bars/food shops etc etc to ground floor tenancies would certainly liven up the place. Currently they are dominated by banks/real estate agents/offices etc which in my opinion should be pushed up to the first floor tenancies - A Salisbury Council planning issue?

Random aerial shot of the densest part of Mawson Lakes, a few taller buildings will look good mixed in here!
