Palm Gardens was going to be mainly housing I believe.
And about time they made that section of Churchill two lanes.

All of Churchill Rd should be two lanes IMO.

Only in Adelaide could a fair chunk of an 'arterial road' be single lane (most of Churchill Rd south of Regency Rd is single lane as well).

Just drove past the site today.

Churchill Road is obviously being widened. The Kmart, Coles and another box have walls up. Looks like it's progressing nicely.

The rule states that you must keep as far left as is practical on a single lane road.....so why are you driving sar far to the right, and so slow as to allow other traffic to overtake you on the left hand side?

Heard Cheap as chips are going in and probably Aldi also .... as well as 2-3 "pad" sites at the front of the development ie Coles Express petrol and the usual suspects of either Maccas/KFC/HJs ....

The rule also states that a driver must not overtake a vehicle to the left of the vehicle.

No one ever gets overtaken doing 60 in a 60 zone in SA do they??

Thanks for clearing that up Claybro :applause:

Get used to 40 Claybro. A trial of the speed limit will be instigated throughout the SE section of the city. Not sure if it will happen by the end of the year but definately by mid 2014.

Aldi to open next year apparently, with Distribution in Regency Park and 50 stores across SA:

Hope they open soon so I don't have to pack lots of Moser Roth and Choceur into my case when flying back from Sydney :P

The selected locations would likely be Windsor Gardens, Edwardstown (former Hills factory site), Gepps Cross, Seaford, Victor Harbour and Tea Tree Plus (replacing that Toys "R" Us stuck in the 1990s!)
For starters, my avatar is the well-known Adelaide Aquatic Centre insignia from 1989.

Hard to tell from the quick shots, but it looked like the site for their DC was on Galippoli Drive? On the Eastern side
Looking forward to a free-flowing Adelaide!

I would think the Windsor Gardens and Tea Tree Plus sites would be too big for Aldi.

Aldi is very different to your Coles/Woolies - they're much smaller (closer to IGA sized than Coles/Woolies size), but would fit in well in places that also have a butcher and fruit/veg shop so people could still do their complete sho in the one spot - just in three different shops.

McDonalds nearly finished and opened here (facing Churchill Rd). Coles express servo well underway. Shopping centre prob. 4-6 months away from completion.
Ps does anyone know how close the train station is to this site or whether a new one is planned?

Maccas open. Coles petrol will open next month I'm told.

The centre will be open at the end of May, according to one of the retailers who will be there.

Costco works apparently about to commence.
