Watch 7news tonight to hear about a proposed harbourtown development in the northern suburbs

I think this is the $400m parafield retail development...

I think it is about time they do so. The current location is over-crowded, the number of people is alright, but the number of cars are ridiculous, some parking over the curbs to save time from finding a car parking spot (lazy buggers).

But they are doing very well at the moment, there is even a new McD being build over there.

Salisbury Council have whined about every bit of Parafield Airport's development, from the billboards on Main North Rd to Bunnings and the retail precinct. It's because they get no say in any of it as its Federal land.

the billboards? - you gotta be kidding

Im 50/50 over this project, becauses theres already heaps of shopping complexes in the area such as Parabanks, Hollywood Plaza, Elizabeth, Ingle Farm and Mawson Lakes.

What do you think they'll build in the development; surely the leaser has to have some guarantee of some large company moving in.

This sounds like a great idea!!! It would be good to have something that would benefit the north more economically. Not only that, its very hard to find designer clothes in the area, Parabanks, Hollywood, Elizabeth and Ingle Farm dont have much of that stuff there, the next closet place to get designer gear would be ttp. Dont know what Zappia is on about tho!! Hes against anything that would benefit the Salisbury District, wow, great mayor!!!

Places that sell things like Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren, Gucci, that sort of thing, i know some ppl think that Elizabeth is a fashion hub, but it is far from it!

I don't intend to cause offence but stores selling such clothing would not be economically viable up in the Elizabeth area. Elizabeth is essentially a low income area and the people (there are exceptions) generally do not have the culture to buy such clothing.
