Worst livery yet.

And for goodness' sake, just pick one and stick to it.

I'd rather follow the lead of either Melbourne, and have a common livery, but different colour scheme for each mode (blue for Metro, purple for V/Line, green for trams, orange for bus), or Sydney and have a different colour scheme for each mode (blue for Metro, orange for trains, blue for buses, red for trams, and green for ferries).

Both Sydney and Melbourne have their PT modes looking quite smart (Sydney's trains, particularly the K and C sets, the exception). Surely we can come up with a smart looking livery for out PT modes.

This. For some reason Adelaide has always based the colour scheme of buses on the model of bus within fleet. This latest offering is awful, they're still government owned buses so why does the brand 'Adelaide Metro' need to be so fucking big? If it were a private company trying to sell a product, sure. But I think most people recognise a Adelaide Metro bus based on the colours, and tourists aren't morons either...

The USB ports are great idea, probably a few years late into the mix but I agree that it won't be long before they're damaged. Perhaps the answer is to have covers that you open and close depending on whether you're using the port. Seems like such a small thing, but you would be surprised how this tends to discourage idiots from damaging these kinds of things. A bit like public powerpoint and the covers over them.

Going off topic for a moment, attached is a picture of Sydney's new inter city "D" type electric trains now undergoing testing. Colour scheme includes very dark orange doors and front, black borders and mainly silver sides..

Which keeps with the orange theme that Sydney's trains are going for.

I know there's a bit of hoo ha over the role of the guards on these trains, but they look great.

The Government only rubber stamps the decisions DPTI make.

Well interestingly my 7.53 bus disappeared, replaced by a 8.02 bus, which now late already.

Talk about phantom bus routes.

No, just disappeared. The next one came though.

I shouldn't complain because outside of that blizzare set up everything else is fine!

Just thought it was funny.

I have heard from very reliable sources that the tenders submitted by many bus companies to operate Adelaide's Bus Services from July this year have been knocked back by the Government because they were too high.
They have been told to lower and resubmit them.
No company is going to take on a contract where they make no money or little money. We don't want a repeat of the Light City Buses fiasco.

Also, while we're at it, may I put my hand up for modern fast loading 3 door buses.

We had 3 door loading in the days of bus conductors, and European (outside the UK) practice is pretty much 100% low floor, 3 door loading for non-artics, and up to 5 doors for artics.

These modern buses load and unload fast. That not only speeds up the trip, but reduces the number of actual stopping places required in the CBD.
Great idea and that should be a consideration for the next buses. Three door buses often have vertical engines that take up the offside rear passenger seats, so it's difficult to retrofit our existing buses with a third door.
