H-367 remains in the barn, at the northern end of road 3, immediately behind the roller door. You can see it through the windows from the Morphett Rd side.
All indications are that the other H's won't return.

Thanks Bill.I guess like many others I am curious as to why TA are keeping 367/370 at Glengowrie if they are not going to use them again?
With 4 more Flexities arriving in 2011(presumably they are still on order) I would have thought they will need the space available at Glengowrie.

Someone here in Kalbar (Pop.880) QLD has bought a Melbourne Z class - $18000 delivered and not leaky and in 'good' condition. (note - much of the cost was for transport here). They looked at an H class but decided against it. (I told them about the H class and possible availability of such when they owned a coffee shop - talked them up - as you do). Wonder how much an H class is to buy? Bill D - do you know?

They won't return - sad but true, I'm afraid.

The only hope for 367/370 would be if the Glenelg council were to decide that they want another round of Stop-12 runs next summer.
Rumours suggest that the rental for these runs would be significantly higher next time - it's a matter of the council weighing up whether the return from their investment is worthwhile.

The one a school has out the front was $12,000, would have been a few years ago.

Why don't you ask this mob  how much theirs is.

You are looking at at least $14,000 min. just for H type 379 which is in rather bad shape... this was quoted over a year ago though and doesn't include the bogies and transport. A dream that will most likely never come true

Glengowrie Depot has been closed since last night(until tomorrow night). This is to enable connection of the 2 eastern tracks to the South Yard. Also completion of overhead wiring of this section and remainder of Southyard.
Old track leading from Entrance from Maxwell Terrace through to tracks 1 & 2 right to the barn have been lifted along with sleepers,in preparation for laying of new tack, sleepers and concreting.
Some trams were stored in Southyard, with some 14 trams stored at the following locations;-
Moseley Square,Stop 12 Glengowrie,South Terrace layover,Entertainment Centre.Although only a maximum of 10 are required for for Saturday and Sunday, the rest are stabled as back up trams.hopefully Bill D or someone else has photographed some of the weekend activities.

May even see one or two re laid for such purposes when the need arises. Not that far from the tram depoet as I remember - a convenient spot.

Work continues in August 2010

From the depot's entrance, new storage shed to the left

South yard: the nearest shed contains the car wash, just visible through the rear door is the new paint shop

Rainwater storage for the car wash no doubt:

Great to see the two H's still there. That last shot puzzles me a little though - why not just have one large bank of rain water tanks a long that side wall instead of several smaller ones wasting the space in between them??
